FeraMAX™ is an oral hematinic that helps the body form red blood cells and is indicated for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia (IDA). The polysaccharide-iron complex formulation provides a non-ionic delivery system that allows the iron ion to be delivered to the bloodstream without coming in to contact with the stomach or upper gastro-intestinal tract. This non-ionic formulation leads to improved iron absorption by the body and eliminates adverse side effects such as nausea, constipation, diarrhea, and epigastric pain associated with many other iron formulations.
FeraMAX™ is available in a 150mg dosage (150mg of elemental iron per capsule). FeraMAX™ 150 delivers the highest amount of elemental iron available in an oral hematinic in the Canadian market and is targeted to high iron needs patients being treated by nephrologists, oncologists and hematologists.
